Very close to the house is the Old Washer of Alcantarilha and Ribeira de Alcantarilha.
It hosts the International Festival of Sand Sculpture, which is the largest sand sculpting festival in the world, having been held regularly and annually since 2003 in Pêra, Algarve. Each year, around 60 artists use 35,000 tons of sand to create various works of art in an area of ??15,000 m². The event is open to the public in the evening, where the night lights provide a completely different view of the event that is Accompanied with circus arts, dance, theater and live music.
You will find Chapel of Bones attached on the south side of the 16th century Parish Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, in the historical center of the beautiful parish of Alcantarilha, in the middle of the Algarve region.
