This is how holiday rental owners described Sarajevo

Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its largest urban, cultural, economic and transport center, the capital of the BiH Federation entity Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the seat of the Sarajevo Canton.

the city is the source of the river Bosna, with the popular excursion of Sarajli , Vrelom Bosne . Around the city are the Olympic mountains: Jahorina , Bjelašnica , Igman , Treskavica and Trebević , which are especially favorite for excursions in Sarajlija and tourists from all over the world during the winter months.
The City of Sarajevo is the seat of the largest higher education institution in the country, the University of Sarajevo, and a number of other higher education institutions, which makes it one of the largest university centers in the entire region of Southeast Europe.
With several national and city theater houses, museums and cultural institutions, Sarajevo is also an important place on the cultural map of this part of the European continent. Every year, the city on the Miljacka River hosts a number of international cultural festivals, among which the most important are: SFF - Sarajevo Film Festival , Sarajevo JazzFest , Baščaršija Nights Summer Festival , theater festival of new productions " MESS ", " Sarajevo Winter " festival of experimental theaters " TeatarFest ", festival of contemporary poetry " Sarajevo Days of Poetry ", children's festival " Kid's Fest ".
In the "most beautiful city in the world", in 1984, the 14th Winter Olympic Games were held which left the participants and visitors in a wonderful memory. The hosts were especially pleased that the Slovenian Alpine skier Jure Franko won a silver medal in the giant slalom - the first medal Yugoslavia will receive in the winter Olympics. Franka Sarajli on the ski resort was greeted with banners that said "We love Jurek more than a burek". Nevertheless, the biggest stars of the Sarajevo Olympics were participants in the art of racing in art skating. The most impressive was the British pair Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean who won the gold medal. At the ZOI 84 gold medal was also won by the East German skater Katarina Witt, whom the Sarajevo Olympics made one of the biggest sports icons from the end of the 20th century. The ZOI 84 is often regarded as the busiest moment in the history of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in many respects represented an antithesis of everything that Sarajevo hit eight years later.
Only 8 km southwest of Sarajevo, Ilidža has for a long time served as a resting place for the inhabitants of the town who can enjoy the thermal waters, the recreational center and the beautiful park around the Bosna River, known as Vrelo Bosna.
The park is filled with green fields, clear lakes made from innumerable ice-cold springs, and there is also a playground for children as well as two traditional restaurants serving very delicious food. The source can be reached by car, by foot, by bicycle or by the attraction of the carriage. The three kilometer long ale is closed for motorized traffic and is ideal for running, cycling or walking. It is possible to rent a car from the Austro-Hungarian periodwhich will take you by 10 KM to the end of the ale. This is the only place in Bosnia and Herzegovina where we still hold that tradition.
Not far from Vrelo Bosna is the Roman bridge. Although named after the Roman Bridge, it dates from the Ottoman period and is named after the Roman excavations in this area. Ilidza is the fastest growing tourist region of Sarajevo. There is a new pool complex that works all year round, the Ilidza thermal riviera. Hotel Terme, also located on Ilidža, has recently restored the work of the recreational-rehabilitation center and offers full bath care services. If you're looking for a hotel, which is cheaper then in the city center, many hotels in Ilidža are priced at 20%. Iidža is connected to the city center by buses and trams that run throughout the day.
The settlement of Ilidža is located in the heart of the oldest inhabited area of the Sarajevo region, with the remains of Neolithic, Illyrian and Roman settlements (Aqua S ...) and thermal baths used during the Roman, Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian empires.
On arrival, the Romans established a settlement with a spa here. The development of this site with its healing water and natural beauty has stagnated relatively well until the arrival of the Ottomans. They gave him the present name of Ilidza from the word "ilaj", which means "cure".

Due to the healing properties of water in Ilidza, which is one of the most important hot springs of central Europe, the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy has urbanized the whole region, transforming it into a huge spa park beneath Mount Igman. In the center of this park, the hotels Austria, Bosnia, Hungaria and Herzegovina have been built, which still exist today. Ilidza has thus become one of the most beloved Monden sites of the Austro-Hungarian aristocracy - the crown prince and his wife, the greatest monarchs ... In the immediate vicinity of Ilidža there is a monument of the nature of Vrelo Bosne, which is reached through the three and a half kilometer long alley of platinum and chestnuts.

The Great Alley, planted until 1894 with a total of 726 trees of roe deer and dozens of wild chestnut trees, is ideal for walking, cycling and rolling, running ... It is a natural park filled with springs and streams, lakes and islets. The spring of Bosnia is a morphological, hydrological and botanical-horticultural phenomenon, one of the most beautiful places in Sarajevo and its surroundings. In the area of Vrelo Bosne there is also the main source of drinking water from the city of Sarajevo - Bačevo. This area, which covers an area of 603 hectares, is home to at least 26 different plant communities and 20 animal species, some of which are endemic. Small Bosnia, a watercourse that spills six springs from the area of the Spring of Bosnia, is an indigenous species of trout trout.

The Great Alley is a walking path connected with the area of Stojčevec, another one of Sarajevo's natural excursions. Stojčevac is made up of forest parks, beautiful bush of wild roses, raspberries and blackberries. Near this natural paradise there is a necropolis Vrutci with an archaeological site of the former church of Sts. Stjepan Prvomučenik from the 10th century, as well as the Roman bridge from the Ottoman period. The recognizable symbol of Ilidža and Vrela Bosne are well-known skiers, who have been transporting guests to Veliki Ajede from Ilidza to the Spring of Bosnia for more than 100 years. Even today he is remembering that the first fighter came with the Crown Prince Franco Ferdinando in 1895.
