“Caldè/Castelveccana ist mit der Bahn gut erreichbar, ein eher ruhiger Ort mit schönen Gassen, kleinem Strand und vielen Möglichkeiten direkt von vor Ort loszuwandern. Es gibt einen kleinen Supermarkt, eine Minibar und ein paar wenige Restaurants. Die Gastro ist teilweise eher teuer, was auch bestimmte Touris und Gäste anzieht.”

“Die Umgebung ist wunderschön. Man kann super wandern und essen gehen. Was uns allerdings sehr gestört hat, ist, dass man zu Fuß rein garnichts machen konnte. Sogar der kurze Weg zum nächsten Strand war ein Problem, da Fußgänger in der Gegend einfach nicht vorgesehen sind. Die Strände sind nicht sehr einladend, weil meißt eher steinige Badestellen ohne Schattenchanges.”

“Not a huge amount going on - the lakes were lovely and there are a few nice restaurants but it's fairly limited. Our best meal was in the local trattoria at the bottom of the road from the villa. It's on the road side but the food was good and the staff friendly.

We went over to Stresa for a day trip to the islands and this side of Lake Maggiore seemed much nicer with more to do, etc. A car is essential for this villa.”
